Fort Bend County Introduces Inaugural Restaurant Weeks to Support Food Pantry
Fort Bend County will launch its first-ever Restaurant Weeks, starting January 15 and running through January 29, 2024, to support the local food pantry, Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. The initiative aims to promote local dining while raising funds and food donations for those in need.
Participating restaurants will offer special menus and discounts, encouraging residents to dine out during the two-week event. “This is a great opportunity to explore our vibrant dining scene while giving back to the community,” said Fort Bend County Judge KP George.
Local businesses are encouraged to join the initiative, which is expected to draw attention to the county’s diverse culinary offerings. Each restaurant will have the option to donate a portion of sales or contribute non-perishable food items to the food pantry.
Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry has been serving the community for over 30 years, providing food, financial assistance, and support to low-income families. The organization aims to alleviate hunger and promote self-sufficiency.
The Restaurant Weeks initiative is part of a broader effort to engage local businesses in charitable activities and enhance community support during difficult economic times. County officials hope the event will strengthen local partnerships and uplift those facing food insecurity.
