A Fort Myers man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after a crash that injured three people. The incident occurred late Saturday night on Palm Beach Boulevard in Fort Myers. Authorities responded to the scene after reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles.

The driver, identified as 34-year-old Michael Smith, was found to be operating his vehicle while impaired, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. “The reckless actions of the suspect put many lives at risk,” a spokesperson said.

Emergency responders transported the three injured individuals to a local hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and they are expected to recover.
