Schalmont Graduate Karissa Antoine Joins Siena Women’s Basketball
Karissa Antoine, a graduate of Schalmont High School, is transferring to Siena College to join the women’s basketball team from Fordham University. The announcement was made on Thursday, marking a fresh chapter in Antoine’s collegiate athletic career.
“I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the Siena program,” Antoine said in a statement. She played two seasons at Fordham, where she averaged 8.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last year.
Antoine, who was a standout player at Schalmont, received multiple accolades during her high school career, including All-State honors. She played a key role in leading her team to a Section II championship before advancing to college basketball.
Siena’s head coach, Jim Jabir, expressed enthusiasm about Antoine’s addition to the roster. “Karissa brings a wealth of experience and talent that will enhance our program,” Jabir stated.
Antoine is expected to join the Saints for the upcoming season, adding depth to the team as they aim for a strong performance in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Founded in 1937, Siena College has a long-standing tradition of competitive athletics and is known for fostering talent in various sports, including basketball.
