Former Wallaby Dallas O’Neill Passes Away at 92
Dallas O’Neill, a former Australian rugby union player and Wallaby #493, has died at the age of 92. O’Neill’s passing was announced on October 23, 2023, by Rugby Australia, which honored his contributions to the sport.
“Dallas was a true gentleman of the game and a pioneering player for Australia,” said Rugby Australia CEO Andy Marinos in a statement. “He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and admired his remarkable achievements.”
O’Neill represented Australia in 10 Test matches from 1950 to 1953. He was known for his skills on the field and played a significant role in the development of rugby in the country.
Born in New South Wales, O’Neill’s rugby career began at a young age. He went on to play for various clubs before earning his spot on the national team.
