Northeastern Tops Boston University in Women’s Basketball Home Opener

Northeastern University defeated Boston University 71-61 on November 10, 2023, in the women’s basketball home opener held at Case Gymnasium. The loss marks a challenging start for Boston University in the new season as they look to improve following last year’s performance.

Northeastern’s strong second half propelled them to victory, outscoring Boston University 42-30. “We executed our game plan effectively in the third quarter, which was crucial for our win,” said Northeastern head coach.

The Terriers struggled with turnovers, committing 18 throughout the game, which contributed to their defeat. Northeastern capitalized on these mistakes by converting them into 21 points, illustrating their defensive strategy.

Boston University will aim to regroup as they prepare for their next game against the University of Vermont. The team will be focusing on tightening their defense and enhancing their ball control to prevent future setbacks.

Last season, Boston University finished with a record of 12-18, missing the postseason. The team is looking to build on their young talent and refine their playstyle in hopes of a better outcome this year.
