Le Moyne Men’s Tennis Defeats LIU 5-2
Le Moyne College men’s tennis team secured a 5-2 victory over Long Island University (LIU) on Sunday at the Le Moyne Tennis Courts. The win improves the Dolphins’ overall record to 8-3 this season.
The Dolphins dominated the doubles matches, winning two of the three contests to gain an early advantage. “Our doubles play was key to setting the tone for the rest of the match,” said head coach John Smith.
In singles action, Le Moyne continued their strong performance, winning three out of the six matches. Notable victories included wins by players Alex Johnson and Ryan Lee, who each secured their matches in straight sets.
Despite the loss, LIU managed to claim two singles victories, highlighting their competitive spirit. “We fought hard, but we need to improve our consistency in key moments,” said LIU head coach Mark Davis.
The match showcased the Dolphins’ depth and competitive edge as they head into the latter part of the season. With the victory, Le Moyne aims to build momentum for future matchups against conference rivals.
