Two individuals were rescued early Tuesday from a partially submerged vehicle following a crash in Florida’s Treasure Coast. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. when the car veered off the road and landed in a canal near State Road 70.

Rescue teams from the Indian River County Fire Rescue responded swiftly to the scene. “The quick actions of our first responders were crucial in saving the lives of these individuals,” said Fire Chief Mike D. Anderson.

Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle in the water and alerted emergency services. Authorities were able to pull the two occupants from the car within minutes of their arrival.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation but are expected to survive. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Florida has seen a rise in vehicle accidents involving water hazards, prompting increased public awareness campaigns on safe driving practices near canals and water bodies.
