India vs Afghanistan Test: Manav Suthar Shines on Debut as Afghanistan Struggles

India’s Manav Suthar made an impressive debut, claiming three wickets on the second day of the Test match against Afghanistan in Bangalore on Wednesday. Afghanistan ended the day at 135 runs for the loss of three wickets, trailing India by 120 runs.

Suthar’s early breakthroughs included the dismissals of Afghanistan’s top order, putting them in a precarious position. “It feels great to contribute to the team’s efforts on my first day,” Suthar said.

Afghanistan’s batting lineup struggled against India’s bowling attack after a challenging morning session. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and experienced batsman Rahmat Shah, both key players, remain at the crease, hoping to stabilize the innings.

The Test match, part of a series aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations, has drawn significant attention. India scored 255 runs in their first innings, with contributions from several batsmen, including a solid half-century from the middle order.

This match marks Afghanistan’s continued development in international cricket, having gained Test status in 2018. The team seeks to improve its standing by competing against established cricketing nations like India.
